Noteworthy News, August 21st, 2020
Our Lift Every Voice and Sing virtual performance (audio and video) is planned to be released next Friday, August 28th in commemoration of the original march on Washington DC that took place in 1963 and where Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech. Watch for the link in an upcoming email blast and social media post.
We need old stuff! Alissa is working with some of our alumni to collect/organize/archive various items of interest from PSC's past. If you have old photos or newspaper clippings of Portland Symphonic Choir activities, please share them via the Legacy Project Upload button on the Member page of the website (pswd=pschoir). Questions? Contact Allissa (alissa@pschoir.org).
Attached is our Rehearsal/Performance Schedule for the upcoming year. In next week's Noteworthy News, you will be asked to complete an online survey to communicate your willingness to participate in our season and confirm contact information. As announced in our Annual Meeting, current members who attend 70% of our virtual rehearsals will not have to do a voice check/audition for the 2021-22 season! The Schedule information is also available on the Members page of our website, under the Member Documents tile (2021-21 Rehearsal/Performance Schedule). Additionally, you may add a link from our official online calendar to your smartphone from the Members page (scroll down to see the calendar and look for the iCal link).
Upcoming Choral (musical) events of Note: The Shows Must Go On series continues its summer break. They promised to re-release more classic Broadway shows later this month.
