We are now collecting pictures, newspaper clippings, and other memorabilia for our Legacy Project. Do you have old photos of Portland Symphonic Choir activities that you aren’t sure how to digitize? Contact Alissa (alissa@pschoir.org) and she can help you with a solution. There is now a Legacy Project Files Upload button on the Member page of the website (pswd=pschoir) or you can email files directly to Alissa. This is a great time to pull out those old shoe boxes of pictures and help us record our Choir’s history.
This seems like a good time to remind folks that Amazon has a terrific program for their contributions to worthwhile organizations such as the Portland Symphonic Choir. Shop online using their specific address, smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate to PSC a percentage of your purchase price. Over time, this adds up nicely, as in $561 to PSC for the first half of this year! The most important step is to use their special website every time you or your friends shop with Amazon -- otherwise the donation link to PSC isn't active. You shop, they give!
Visit smile.amazon.com.
Sign in with your Amazon.com credentials.
Choose a charitable organization to receive donations, or search for the charity of your choice (Portland Symphonic Choir).
Select your charity. Once you have selected your charity, it will appear beneath the Amazon search bar.
Start shopping!
Note: smile.amazon appears to only work when using a "normal browser" (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc) and does not work with the Amazon App that runs on mobile devices.
Upcoming Choral (musical) events of Note: The Shows Must Go On series continues its summer break. They promised to re-release more classic Broadway shows later this month.
