A special note (!) from the Pres: Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual Meeting and, among other important business, re-elected me as your President. I thank you for the vote of confidence. This coming year promises to be different from any other PSC has encountered. Thanks to the creativity of our ALC and Wednesday brainstorming sessions, plans for SummerSings becoming SeptemberSings and a virtual Wintersong experience should see favorable results. The concept of community involvement in all of our rehearsals PLUS the outreach with the Lift Every Voice project is exciting. It's important that we keep our voices in shape so when the pandemic settles down and we can rehearse and perform together, we are able to meet the challenges of the big works planned for a year from now.

One of the administrative activities planned for this summer is moving all our "stuff" off of the ChoirGenius internet site to a combination of our new and improved website (pschoir.org) and Google Suite for Nonprofits (save $$$). This includes the online calendar that many have utilized as an automatic update to the calendar in our SmartPhone (iPhone). Here is the Link to the new calendar via Google (iCal).

From Wendy: Monday is the deadline for your Lift Every Voice and Sing videos.  I would love to get 40 singers to participate in this project and we are up to 29, The recordings I have received so far are awesome! You sound fantastic and are singing with great accuracy and expression. I am thrilled that you took the time and energy to send in a video. Thank you so much! I have been having wonderful conversations with our audio/video producer for this project and am so excited about the concept. I think the video will be powerful and convey an important message. I am happy to extend the deadline to anyone who needs more time and am also happy to talk you through any technical difficulties. We really need YOUR voice to make this project soar. Thanks for going on this virtual journey. I am so excited to hear and see the results.

From Alissa: Monday is also the deadline for you to submit a video of Abendlied. See our website for detailed information: pschor.org and the EVENTS tab.

From our music librarians: We appreciate everyone who returned their music. For the few of you who have a "death grip" on the scores, (14 at last count) please know that Helen's is now the only official drop-off site. Helen is reaching out directly to those folks.

Upcoming Choral (musical) events of Note: The Shows Must Go On series is taking a summer break until August when they promise to re-release more classic Broadway shows. In the meantime, here is a Link to some bloopers from Eric Whitacre's latest virtual choir project. Take a few minutes to enjoy some of the situations but also listen to the singing. We should be proud to be members of PSC and understand the quality of what each individual voice contributes to our sound. Here is the Link to their final product. Pretty amazing -- the power of the human voice, especially when assembled in the form of a choir. Ours is a wonderful skill and gift to the world.
